Help Build Safety Before the Door Opens
Red Thread Refuge Society is working to create safer, longer-term housing and support for women, children, and pets leaving violence.
Right now, we are building the foundation needed to make that future real. Your donation helps move this work forward through planning, partnerships, outreach, professional guidance, grant applications, and survivor-informed advocacy.
Every gift helps turn safety from an idea into something families can reach.
Donations to Red Thread Refuge Society support the development of safe, dignity-centred resources and our work toward safer, longer-term housing and practical pathways for women, children, and pets escaping abuse in Northern Ontario.
Every contribution helps build more than a project. It helps build stability, safety, healing, and a real path forward.
Funds raised may support Phase 0 development work and future survivor-centred programming, including:
Planning, feasibility work, partnerships, and fundraising toward future supportive housing in Greater Sudbury.
Emergency relief and transitional support for survivors fleeing unsafe environments
Community outreach programs and advocacy efforts
Mental health and wellness support resources
Future programs and partnerships that may include emergency relief, transitional support, wellness resources, children’s supports, and practical necessities for survivors.
Donations also help build the foundation of RTRS itself; allowing the organization to grow from a grassroots movement into a lasting force for change within the community. This includes creating partnerships, securing resources, building public awareness, developing programs, and establishing infrastructure capable of supporting vulnerable individuals for years to come.
RTRS is rooted in lived experience, compassion, advocacy, and action. Every dollar helps transform survival into empowerment and reminds people facing hardship that they are not invisible, forgotten, or alone.
